“Jacob Ben Abraham,” the author of this blog, was born and raised in a small Southern town. He acquired a high school education in a military academy, then attended and graduated from a Southern college and law school. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Omicron Delta Kappa. Before beginning to practice law in the 1990’s he spent many years at various occupations, including high school and college teaching, counseling troubled families, community organizing and a variety of jobs in the fields of alcoholism and drug addiction. The name “Jacob Ben Abraham” is a nom de plume that keeps him anonymous “at the level of press, radio, and films.” He practices law and lives with his wife near a wonderful small town university. His pastimes are walking and reading. His favorite authors include Flannery O’Conner, Chris Hedges, Martin Luther King, Jr., and James Agee. He loves many things, many people and all dogs. He is a member of the Southern Poverty Law Center, the American Bar Association and the American Civil Liberties Union.
